Loving others is principally an attitude of mind, and the way in which we express it depends on the needs and wishes of each individual as well as our karmic connection with them. We cannot physically care for everyone, but we can develop a caring attitude toward all beings. This is the main point of training the mind. By training our mind in this way we will eventually become a Buddha with the actual power to protect all living beings.
